GCHB* Birch Bark Chiseled Rock MH (GCHB Chessieville Bay Maximum Caliber RI TKI CGCA x GCH Next Generations Chiseled In Stone) finished his Grand Champion Bronze title on June 22, 2025 after winning Best of Breed four days in a row at the Summer Solstice Show in Cambridge, MN.
This makes Rocky only the 5th Chesapeake Bay Retriever in history to have achieved both a GCHB (or better) and MH (master level hunt test title or better).
Rocky and Cooper were such a fun team to watch in the ring. They always looked like they were having so much fun.
Rocky was bred by Joan Morris of Texas Traditions and handled to GCHB by Dr. Cartrell D Cooper.

On July 20, 2025, Curt and Rocky earned a new kind of ribbon this weekend. They got their first Senior Pass at a NAHRA (North American Hunting Retriever Association) test.
The Senior level includes four challenging series:
A land triple with a blind
A water triple with a blind
A pheasant hunt with a sit-to-flush
To finish, Rocky had to honor while another dog worked.
I love watching Rocky and Curt work, and it’s always fun when they do something new!
While in Ronan, Montana for the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Field Trial Specialty, Rocky had a photo shoot with Mark Atwater of Up Close Photo. Rocky loves performing for the camera. Check out these great shots Mark got.

On June 23, 2024 at the Summer Solstice Cluster in Cambridge, Minnesota, Rocky received his first group placement thanks to Judge Robert L. Robinson. He and his handler, Dr. Cartrell Cooper were a delight to watch together in the ring.

Thanks to Judge Betsy A. Yates and Judge Sulie Greendale-Paveza for the Best of Breed recognitions at this show.
